Stamp Duty Relief Ends & Lower Deposit Starts

February 24th, 2010

As I have been working on the House Removal section in the London area, I have always kept my ears open to any news that evolves in this housing Sector.
When the stamp duty relief was due to end, we all thought the things would be a bit quieter for us and in fact, January 2010 was a bad month  in the House Moving Section. Now, I read that Santander is going to put some competition into the first time buyers market, by reducing the amount of the minimum deposit required to only 10%. I am hoping that other banks take on the challenge offer similar facilities.
First time buyers are very important to moving companies and man and van service, and it is also good for the British people to stop paying rent to these shark landlords and start paying their own place.
So, COME ON, let’s help the first time buyers to get on the property ladder.

White Van Man to history?

Technology Vs Reckless Man vans

Reading this article about man and van on the Times Online this week, where they are talking about this new GPS tracking devices which is to operate as a black-box of a airplane.

What does it do?

It sends data to the controllers telling all about the drivers style, such as location, speed and even if you go too fast in the corners.

Is is good or bad for the good Van drivers?

Good removal van drivers like myself are often referred to as tailgating hooligan, but we can’t really say anything because we know that there are some really aggressive and careless man and van drivers out there.

Pros - If larger companies adopt this system, it is likely that drivers will be more careful with the way they drive and therefore, less accidents on the roads which will than lead to cheaper insurance for all van drivers out there.
And if it also helps to cut down the carbon emission of this vehicles, than, perfect.

Con - Government could adopt some sort of scheme to help smaller removal companies to be able to afford the new technology as well.

Are you a man and van driver in London , tell us what do you think?

Undercover Police Car Crash

August 14th, 2009

I was just driving through Acre Lane (Brixton) today on my way to do a removal in Streatham, when I witnessed an undercover police car crashing into a Renault, driven by a lady with a baby in the backseat.
I did not wait until ambulance comes to the scene, but it seemed that everyone was okay, despite the enormous shock.
I have a removal Service booked today at 4:00pm, and I need to be there on time.
But, I managed to get some photos with my phone.

Man and Van Wimbledon

July 1st, 2009

I was talking to the handy removals van man who covers the Wimbledon area, to find out how the Wimbledon Tennis is affecting his daily work. He said that the only problem is the parking, which during the Wimbledon Tennis is, most of the parking bays and single yellow lines get suspend, which makes his light removals service a little harder. However, he said that it is compensated by the great please of seating outside of a pub near by the courts, watching some of the matches and drinking a cold beer.

When I asked if he believe that Andy Murray could win the man’s single this, he said that he has seen great improvement in Murray’s game, but Roger seems to be at his best this year, and he is sorry that Nadal wasn’t able to defend his title, otherwise, we could have an epic finale. But, best of luck to Murray, he will need it …

June 24th, 2009

I would like to dedicate this prayer to all my dear man & van colleagues in London & the UK…
May God help us go through these recession times, and protect us from the traffic wardens trying to give us unfair fines…

Sacred Moment

by Paulo Coelho

Lord, protect our doubts, because Doubt is a way of praying. It is Doubt that makes us grow because it forces us to look fearlessly at the many answers that exist to one question. And in order for this to be possible…

Van Man Saves Kids in London

May 15th, 2009

Yes, this is the story of a van driver who saved 10 kids from being hit by an empty 4×4 rolling down the road. The 4×4 was going toward the kids in front a primary school when the van man drove his van in from the 4×4. Our hero’s name is Aiden Currie and he is safe as well.

Now, for the people who likes to talk about the man and vans in London, this is an example how brave the man and vans are.
